Security and police are hunting for murderers who killed and dismembered a person and stuffed the remains in a box.
The box was then dumped in a swamp in Nsangi aong the Manja–Muzinda road towards Buloba .
According to police spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango, the box was first spotted at 11:10 a.m. on September 10 by a local bricklayer, Musoke William, who later reported the discovery to Nsangi Police Division at 7:30 p.m.
“Our team responded promptly and retrieved the box, which was taken to the city mortuary for a postmortem examination,” Onyango said in a statement.
Its not yet known whether the victim was a male or female, adult or a minor, but ivestigations are continuing.
Police are now working to establish the identity of the victim and circumstances surrounding the killing.
“Identification of the victim is a critical step in understanding the case and locating suspects or persons connected to this incident,” Onyango added.
Authorities are urging members of the public with missing relatives or unaccounted-for family members to visit Mulago City Mortuary to help with identification.
