City tycoon Hamis Kiggundu, popularly known as Ham, has once again set Uganda’s social media alight after unveiling striking family portraits featuring his two wives and 11 children. The images, taken inside his famed “Ham’s Residence”—often referred to as the White House—in Akright City along the Entebbe Expressway, capture the mogul at the heart of his ever-growing family.
The photographs exude both opulence and intimacy, with Ham seated proudly at the centre of the frame, flanked by his wives and children, all clad in elegant white attire. For many Ugandans online, the images have reinforced Ham’s public image not only as a business titan, but also as a “family mogul”—a man whose wealth is not merely measured in properties, enterprises, and investments, but also in love and legacy.
A Mogul at Home and in Business
Hamis Kiggundu is no stranger to headlines. Beyond his luxurious lifestyle and bold business moves, he has recently been at the centre of high-profile engagements with Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) regarding his ambitious redevelopment of the Nakivubo channel. The project, which promises to redefine Kampala’s urban infrastructure, has attracted both praise and scrutiny.
Yet, as these new family portraits prove, Ham’s empire is not solely bricks, mortar, and city blocks. It is also the warmth of a household that mirrors his resilience and drive. Where Kampala knows him as a man shaping skylines, his children know him as “Dad” shaping their future.
A Mogul with Humour
Social media reactions have captured this lighter side of Ham, with many Ugandans joking that while he has dominated Kampala’s business sphere, he seems equally intent on dominating the family sphere too. “Ham is not just a city mogul, he is a family mogul,” one witty commenter remarked.
For Ham, the duality is seamless: just as he builds bridges and redevelops channels in the city, he is also building bonds and memories at home.
