COURT
The Kiboga bound land grabber who was charged and abused his bail when he went underground for half a year has been captured and remanded.
The operation was led by the SHACU works hand in hand with police and office of the DPP.
Mr Ronald Ainebyoona was yesterday arraigned before the Kiboga Chief Magistrates Court on charges of forcible entry, malicious damage, and assault.
He had initially been arrested and charged but after his initial plea on March 27, 2025, the accused was released on court bail but absconded, going into hiding for six months.
A warrant of arrest was issued against him on June 30, 2025. Despite this, he continued to evade justice.
The Unit worked tirelessly with Police, tracing and re-arresting him .
On March 14, 2025, the investigation found that Ainebyoona and others still at large, violently entered land in Block 542, Plot 2, Kiboga district, evicted several occupants, damaged crops, houses, a fence, and animal sheds belonging to the complainant, Badru Mwanje, a 70-year-old man, and assaulted people present on the land.
This case resulted from a directive by H.E. the President to the Head of Unit, Brig Gen Henry Isoke, to investigate the criminal aspects and ensure the law is upheld.
The Court remanded Ainebyoona until October 13, 2025.
