They all come from small parties.

In the election where human rights activists and opposition parties have complained of intimidation, violence and abductions very little may be expected for change seekers.

The would be strong candidates to give Suluhu a run for her vote like Hon Tundu Lissu of Chadema party was arrested on charges of treason and incitement after calling for electral reforms and disqualified from participating in the elections. His party was disqualified too by the National Electoral Commission.

Another member of CCM, Hon Luhanga Mpina who felt dissatisfied with CCM choice of Suluhu and Emmanuel Nchimbi as her run mate was also blocked from contesting.

Mpina had dropped CCM and joined Alliance for Change and Transparency but was barred from running for president over complaints that the party had failed to comply with nomination procedures in the primaries.

Political analysts said the October 29,2025 polls is nothing but a one man’s show to rubber stamp CMM ‘s dictatorship and called for the international community to isolate the country whose democratic levels are below average.
