Police and concerned relatives are suspecting that the fallen police officer, Godfrey Maate Bolingo could have been prisoned.

Bolingo who was pronounced dead at Doctors clinic in Kakuuto on Sunday after complaining of stomach related problems shortly had been in circles of land evictions and some people had complained against him.

Until his death the hardworking officer was in charge of the multi billion Uganda government agro project at Sango Bay palm oil plantations.

He was also.the over all cordinator of UNEB exams security country wide.

According to people who were close to him over the weekend, he was not known to be sick but only developed a complication and died.

” There is suspicion some one fed him poison for own reasons but the postmoterm report will tell us more”one close source revealed.

The Sango Bay project is a joint investment between government which pleaded to contribute over one hundred billions and private investors Bukoola estates and Bidco whose contributions is well over 735 billion shillings.

The government funds were mostly in land compositions, infrastructure development while the companies had to bring cash ,machinery and palmoils. The whole arrangement was designed to reduce Uganda’s overdepence on imported cooking oil.

Recently president Museveni donated 22028 hectares of land to the two companies equally from the vast 65000 hectares of Sango Bay.

The dead officer was in charge of evicting local people but some complained of unfair treatment, encroachment or gribbing.

At the top of these allegations, Mutukula town council mayor ,David Mujaasi wrote to state house land committee boss Brig Gen Moses Lukyamuzi asking him to investigate Bolingo and his team.

However the late Bolingo denied of any wrong doing saying he was only implementing the presidential order.
Other co accused included the area RDC and Mr Ignatius Tumwesiga who claimed to be closer to the first family.
