Doctor Wataba Saadi, a Municipal Medical Officer, Lugazi Municipality was Tuesday arraigned before Mukono Chief Magistrate’s Court on charges of Obtaining Money by False Pretence and Conspiracy to Defraud.
Dr Wataba together with Sekikubo Mubarak, Chairperson of LC III, Nakisunga Sub-County, and Mugerwa Ronald Saaku, the Probation & Welfare Officer of Lugazi Municipality, between January and June 2025, in Mukono Town, conspired to defraud a job applicant, Dr Mukisa George William, of UGX 38,000,000 by falsely claiming they could secure him a government job as a medical officer in Mukono District.
They claimed that the said money was intended to facilitate members of the Mukono District Service Commission in helping him secure the Medical Officer position for which he had applied, which was not the case.
They were arrested by SHACU working with Uganda police and office of the DPP. He denied the charges and was sent on remand.
