Security have launched an investigation following the abduction of a six year old girl by a masked gunman in Njeru, Buikwe District.
The thug also made off with Shs1.65 million in the late-night attack .
Seecurity details show that the armed assailant struck the home of Dr. Ndiwalana Mbuga Moses, 37, in Naminya Cell at around 11:30 pm on Thursday, moments after the doctor returned from work.
According Ssezibwa region police spokesperson, Hellen Butoto ,the attacker ambushed the family as Dr. Ndiwalana parked his vehicle, holding him at gunpoint along with his watchman, Byaruhanga Michael, his wife, and their maid.
“On him parking his vehicle, a masked gunman put him on gunpoint and ordered him to lie down together with his watchman, his wife and maid who had come to welcome the doctor,” Butoto said.
The assailant then forced the group into the house, where he allegedly robbed Shs1,650,000 in cash before seizing the couple’s child — six-year-old Nankya Kaira Mbuga — and fleeing into the night.
Police say the motive of the kidnapping is not yet clear, and no ransom demand has been made so far.
