The Bushenyi District Police has in custody two men suspected to be behind the murder of Linette Karunga, a 21 year old student at Kampala International University (KIU) Western Campus, who was found murdered in Nyakashebeya Village, Nyabubare Parish, Nyabubare Sub county on Monday night.
According to the Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson SP Apollo Tayebwa, the duo identified as Onan Nimwesiga and another man only identified as Farouk were allegedly boyfriends to the deceased.
Tayebwa noted that the suspects are being questioned to assist with ongoing inquiries into the incident.
“We have two suspects in custody who were close to the deceased, and they are assisting us as we work to establish what exactly happened. We appeal to anyone with relevant information to come forward. Public cooperation is key in helping us bring the perpetrator to justice” he said.
Authorities have urged the public to remain and avoid speculation as police carries out its investigations.
