NTOROKO- UGANDA/NEWSDAY: At least 11 ADF fighters have been killed in an ongoing battle between them and the Uganda People’s Defense Dorces (UPDF) army.
UPDF spokesperson, Brig Felix Kulaigye said between 20 to 30 ADF Fighters crossed into Uganda through Semiliki last night but weere detected by the military intelligence.
“Estimated 20-30 ADF fighters last night crossed River Semuliki into Kyanja in Ntoroko district. Our intelligence got wind of them and they were intercepted”, Kulaigye said.
Adding; “A fight is on to decisively deal with the group. 11 of them have been put out of Action”.
Ten guns have been captured and 8 ADF fighters.
This comes a year after bombings in Kampala near Parliament and at the Central Police Station which led to the UPDF to launch operation Shuja inside the Democratic Republic of Congo. Many bases have since been bombed.
