INDIA. Two Ugandan women were Wednesday taken into custody over allegedly selling narcotics worth Shs.9m in India.
The women Sanyu Florence (28) and Nabankema Arisat (26) were reportedly found with narcotic substances in Anjuna, a coastal town, East of India.
“As per information obtained from SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi, inputs were received from reliable sources that two foreign nationals were supplying drugs in the coastal region of Anjuna from last few days. Based on the information, a team from Anjuna Police Station was formed,”a local website Herald reported.
Sanyu and Nabankema, according to reports had been supplying narcotics until their luck run out.
The two were paraded while their faces were hooded and sitting in front of law enforcement officers.
During the search, seven gm Ecstasy valued at Rs 45,000, 10.3 gm of cocaine valued at Rs 82,400, and 3.4 gm MDMA valued at Rs 34,000 were recovered from their possession, the police said.
If the quantity of the substance thst was found with the Ugandans is classed as commercial , Sanyu and Nabankema face up to 20 years in jail and a fine.
