Ibrahim Tusubira has been critical on nearly everything and he often attacked the ruling party to which he subscribed and the opposition.

He was killed near his home in Kyanja on Saturday night. Tusubira has been the chairperson of Uganda Bloggers Association.

National Unity Platform President Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine said every one was a potential target. He said he had always complained about State armed operatives in plain clothes.

“Whenever we complain about armed regime operatives dressed in civilian clothes causing mayhem, abducting or even killing our people, the same regime apologists say we’re politicizing things,” Bobi tweeted.

He added; “Not even a week after the MURDER of minister Engola, blogger Isma Olaxes is MURDERED in cold blood. This follows so many other unresolved MURDERS! What is clear to all of us, regardless of your political affiliation, is that in a sinking boat, there are no winners,” Bobi tweeted, adding “I will say it again, EVERYONE IS A POTENTIAL VICTIM OF THE LAWLESSNESS OF THE MUSEVENI REGIME”

Speaker Anita Among also condemned the killing of Tusubira.

“I condemn in the strongest terms the barbaric act of taking human life in cold blood. Such actions have no place in our Nation and must not be tolerated. I call upon the police to ensure the culprits are brought to book. Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. May Allah forgive you all your shortcomings and grant you Jannah. My sincere condolences to his family, friends and the Uganda bloggers Association in this trying moment,” Ms Among tweeted

Image showed Tusubira lying dead in his motor vehicle, registered under number UBK 213 D and a police statement said he was shot dead by a man using an SMG at 9.20pm near his gate.Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba asked security agencies to speed up investigations into Tusibira’s killing.”I am very saddened to hear about the brutal killing of our compatriot Ibrahim Tusubira, aka Isma Olaxes. He was an outspoken and fearless commentator on national issues. I urge all law enforcement agencies to quickly find those behind his murder and bring them to justice. RIP Isma”, Gen Muhoozi tweeted.Jim Spire Ssentongo tweeted; “Sad he died like that! It’s not easy to grieve him, but I do.He celebrated the killing & torture of others. But I still want to think that he was a hungry man not so reflective on how far the search for ‘food’ should go. He should’ve lived to know that violence is unsustainable,” Spire tweeted.
