KAMPALA: The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, has described Kato Lubwama as a legislator who brought life to the 10th Parliament where the fallen comedian served for one term representing the people of Lubaga South.

Kato Lubwama died on the night of Tuesday a few hours after a short outing with some friends.

He was last seen at a pork joint in Lubaga where he cracked multiple jokes as he sipped his beer.

On Wednesday morning, Tayebwa said: “Woken up to the sad news of Hon. Kato Lubwama’s death. The former MP brought life to the 10th Parliament. He could bring a smile to all of us.”

Tayebwa said Lubwama was passionate on seeing the entertainment industry grow and employ as many young people as possible.

“To him, the political divide in the country was unnecessary. He believed in a more united country with no hard feelings based on political beliefs,” Tayebwa said, adding: “I wish to extend my condolences to his family and constituents. Rest in peace brother.”
