Furious NRM CEC hunt for next Speaker

Kampala: As the ruling party goes up in flames over extravagant Speaker Anita Among’s lifestyle, the NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC) has been directed to hunt for a new head of Legislature.

News reaching out headquarters indicates that despite meeting president Yoweri Museveni, Among did not give satisfactory explanation over her spending, resulting in the party Chairman directing otherwise.

The CEC Members who returned from supervising the registration exercise after pocketing shs50m each from the party Secretariat are now hunting for Among’s replacement.

Thomas Tayebwa, the Deputy Speaker has already been tipped for the job given his warm relationship with the CEC members.

It is said Tayebwa and some CEC members such as Mike Mukula, Chris Baryomunsi, Godfrey Kiwanda, Mwesigwa Robert Rukaari, Gaddafi Nasur and Rebecca Kadaga as well as Al Haji Moses Kigongo are quite friendly.

Sources say that Among could be dropped into one of the ministries supervised by OPM in the looming Cabinet reshuffle.
