Football coach charged with defilemen

A football tactician had been charged on allegations of secondary defilement.
Ivan Mayombwe 29 , a resident of Kanyogoga in Makindye division, Kampala district was arraigned before the grade one magistrate in Makindye, Easter Adkini.
It’s alleged the suspect defiled a fourteen years old girl ( names withheld)on 20/7/2024.
He denied the charges and court adjourned to next month of September.
He was told that he could seek bail but he had no sureties.
Under the revised penal code act, defilement was separated into two categories.
“Defilement” which is punishable with a life sentence and can be tried in a magistrate court and ” agrevated Defilement” with a death sentence which is a capital offense and only tried in High courts.
