Rakai District Service Commission Boss Charged For Corruption

KAMPALA
THE anti corruption agencies in the country are poised to fight this evil until the country gets to it’s turning point and desist from this vice.
The latest catch has come in the person of The Chairperson Rakai District Service Commission, Mr Mpuga David who was nabbed after several complaints.
Mpuga was Monday 7,2024 afternoon charged with three counts of Corruption before the Anti-Corruption Court after he solicited and received UGX 20 million from a candidate, to secure him a job as an Agricultural Officer of Rakai District.
Court heard that despite some cash advancement , no job was given moreover.
The suspect denied all the charges.
The accused was arrested by the State House Anti Corruption Unit
working together with the Uganda police and the office of the DPP.
The arrest followed a public outcry to the RDC Rakai of him consistently asking bribes on each vacancy available.
Court headed by magistrate Easter Asiimwe remanded him until 14/10/2024.
