GUN VIOLENCE: How Police Officer Shot Truck Driver Dead In Kampala

SECURITY is investigating circumstances under which a police officer shot and killed a truck driver after a small traffic argument.

The officer Charles Bahati Immediately took off with his weapon and police and relevant agencies are now on his high hunt.

The astonishing incident happened Monday near Sheraton hotel in the the Ssezibwa junction.

Eyewitnesses told Media that Bahati was seated on a police pick up 555915_UP with fellow policemen and seemed to be in a hurry.
A lady carrying a cake was reportedly among the occupants suggesting they could have been heading for merrymaking.

It added that the deceased, Juius Ssemwaka had driven trying to take a corner and Bahati ordered him to creat space by reversing abit causing an argument.

” Bahati who had now jumped out if the truck shot him and fled on a bodaboda” said one of the witness.
He added that the truck driver wouldn’t reverse immediately because of traffic.

Police spokesman Rusoke Kituuma told investigations were underway , condemned the act and appealed to the general public to get calm.
