Bomb Like Explosion Leaves Two Dead In Njeru Welding Workshop

TWO people are confirmed dead after an explosion at a welding workshop in Triangle Zone, Njeru Municipality, Buikwe District.
Authorities say the incident happened as the victims were attempting to work on a metal structure. It is suspected that the explosion may have been caused by mishandling of yet to be identified metal.
Security agencies, including the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), counterterrorism units, and local law enforcement, have cordoned off the area to secure the scene and launch an investigation.

Residents in the vicinity have been urged to go a distance as authorities start investigating the matter.
By press time bodies of the deceased were still at the scene while their identities had not yet been established.
