The 6 Killed Robbers Targeted 500m From Kampala Top Bank

THE number of
robbers who were Monday 13, January 2025 shot dead by police has risen to 6 as they waited to rob sh 500m from Stanbic bank.

They were gunned down by police and other intelligence officers as they targeted a banker from Total near Stanbic bank at Acacia mall premises while others were killed at Tagore road and Kamwokya where they had waited.

According to police spokesperson Rusoke Kituuma, those killed had been trailed and were armed with pangas, pepper spray, motorcycles and other weapons.

They are part of the robbers who carry on daring robberies on motorcycles with guns, pangas, pepper and knives and have robbed and killed many people around Kampala and other areas.

In a brief statement by police, it said those killed have been on police watch list for notorious robberies around the country.

“These individuals were already on the police watch list and are believed to be linked to a series of robberies,” the statement said.

Police promised to reveal more details on those gunned and the foiled game plot. The botched robbery had been planned in different robber meetings and they had successful trailed their victim who only survived because of police quick action.
