KAMPALA

The head of State House Anti corruption unit , Brig Gen Henry Isoke met the Iñspector General of police, Abbas Byakagaba to discuss Gold security related matters in the country.

The consultative meeting which also talked about other precious minerals centred on fighting rogue mineral dealers among others.

It was a high security meeting which attracted other stakeholders from the minerals industry to discuss the effective management of gold and other precious minerals transactions in Uganda .

Held at Uganda Police Headquarters, Naguru, the meeting,was chaired by Mrs. Irene Bateebe, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy.

The meeting comes at a time when State House Anti corruption unit and police are determined to fight gold scammers especially at Entebbe international airport and other locations in Kampala who have been conning foreigners with fake gold.

Some of such have already been brought to book while others are still at large.

The security chiefs were and ministry officials were joined by their counterparts from the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and Airport Security.
