Over speeding motorcyclist leaves one dead in Rukungiri

Police in Rukungiri are hunting for a motorcyclist who caused an accident that resulted into the death of one person and another one critically injured.
The accident occurred on the 04/02/2025 at around 2140hrs at Kakirago Cell, Bugangari Sub county along Rukungiri Kihihi highway Rukungiri district, where m/c reg no UFW 472E CT Baja Red in Colour ridden by not yet identified rider was involved.

The deceased has been identified as Nabasa Ndoshore male 38yrs resident of Nyakinengo Cell, Bugangari Sub county who was on foot and knocked dead on the spot.
The other victim is
Nawurira Erias 23yrs old Casual labourer resident of Rumira cell, Bugangari Sub county, who was a passenger on the same motorcycle.

It’s alleged that while the rider of the motorcycle was ridding from the direction of Rukungiri Town heading to the direction of Bikurungu, that’s when he knocked the pedestrian dead on spot who was crossing the road and one other passenger on the same motorcycle injured as he took off and abandoned the motorcycle.

The police were informed, scene visited and documented and the wreckage retrieved and parked at Cps Rukungiri pending iov inspection.
The deceased was taken to Rwakabengo health centre mortuary for postmortem and the victim visited in the clinic and he is in critical condition.

over speeding by the rider according to Asp Elly Maate the area police spokesman.
