The State House Anti-Corruption Unit working together with the Criminal Investigationsj Directorate, arrested the Mpigi District LCV Chairperson, Martin Ssejjemba, and two District Service Commission officials, Frederick Kirumira and Sarah Nakamoga, for allegedly soliciting bribes in exchange for jobs.
The SH-ACU is headed by Brg Gen Henry Isolde, is poised to clean up the country and many government officials have been arrested and charged since inception and in some cases billions of cash have been recovered from the culprits.
The arrests were made on June 27, 2025, following a directive from President Yoweri Museveni, who received complaints about widespread corruption in the district’s recruitment process during his Parish Development Model monitoring tour on June 17, 2025.
Applicants were allegedly required to pay bribes ranging from 50,000 to 15 million Ugandan shillings to be considered for employment.
The suspects who are being locked up at CPS, Kampala will be charged in court once investigations are complete.
The people of Mpigi await justice, hoping this marks the beginning of a cleaner and fairer system where jobs are awarded based on merit, not bribes.
