The deputy CEO of National Enterprise Corporation(NEC) the financial arm of the army, Maj Gen Sabiti Muzeyi last evening survived an accident after his vehicle collided almost head on with a cattle truck.

The accident occured on was airlifted to Kampala on Saturday after being involved in a serious road accident in Lwengo district along the Mbarara–Kampala highway.

The accident Deputy Inspector General of Police was traveling back from a marriage ceremony in Mbarara. He was in the company of his wife who also got some injuries.

His vehicle was left mangled beyond recognition after being involved in a crash with a car carrying cattle, prompting immediate evacuation by security and medical teams.

By this morning, security sources said the General was out of danger.

Maj. Gen. Sabiiti Muzeyi is a respected figure in Uganda’s security architecture.

A graduate of the prestigious National Defence College in Kenya, he has held key command roles including Commander of the Military Police and Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) from 2018 to 2020.

Before his appointment as DIGP, he served as second-in-command of the Special Forces Command (SFC), where he worked closely on presidential security operations.

His redeployment back to the UPDF in 2020 saw him takes on strategic assignments in the army’s leadership development programs.
