The Kampala. The National Unity Platform has elected a team of 15 Members of PArliament to represent it on different committees and two regional Parliaments.
The MPs have been elected in an executive meeting held early today at NUP offices in Kamwokya.
Member of Parliament for Nyendo-Mukungwe (MP) Mathias Mpuuga is the new Leader of opposition.
Manjiya MP John Baptist Nambeshe has been elected as the opposition Chief Whip and he will be deputised by Kyebakutika Manjeri, the Jinja City Woman MP.
Busiro East MP Medard Sseggona is the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee with Bugiri Municipality MP Asuman Basalirwa as the deputy. Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake is a commissioner on the Parliament Commission.
The party spokesperson and the MP for Nakawa West Joel Ssenyonyi is the CoSASE chairperson. Amuru District Woman MP Lucy Akello will be the deputy.
Mukono Municipality MP Nambooze Bakileke is the chairperson of the Government Assurances. Kalungu West MP Gonzaga Ssewungu will be the deputy.
MP for Bardeg-Laibi, Ojara Martin is the chairperson of the Local governments Committee and will be deputised by Paulson Luttamaguzi Ssemakula.
Hon Patrick Nsanja of Kassabda North is the party’s representative to the Pan African Parliament.
Kassanda District Woman MP Flavia Kalule is the NUP representative on Inter-Parliamentary Union while Butambala Woman MP Aisha Kabanda has been selected on the membership of the Parliamentary Pension Fund.
