Panic as Bobi Wine releases list of abducted people contrary to one of gov’t.

The National unity Platform (NUP)  has released a list of 423 of it’s supporters allegedly abducted by unidentified  security agents in the ongoing Pandagari operations around the country.

Names on the list are categorized as those who were murdered,  still missing or have been charged in the court martial.

“Here is the status update on abducted NUP/ People Power supporters, whose details we have been able to capture so far. There are many more across the country whose details are still coming in,” the NUP leader Bobi Wine said via his Facebook early on Friday.

He said the list  had 423 people who are still missing while 41 who were abducted have since resurfaced mostly with torture wounds. 

“In this list, we also have 19 people who were murdered during campaigns,12 who were murdered before elections, 158 who were arrested and arraigned before military courts and 27 who have been granted bail by military courts” Bobi Wine said.

On Thursday, internal affairs minister  Gen. Jeje Odong released a disputed list that only accounted for, 89 of the 423 of the missing persons in NUP’s list.

“This means that 334 of these are still unaccounted for. ( Gen Odong) was silent about the torture wounds which some comrades have resurfaced with, as well as those who have showed up dead, such as Rogers Semakula of Mukono!” Bobi Wine said.and he demanded that everyone is a counted for by government.

But Gen. Odong said that government would look into all other emerging lists to find the missing people.

The controversy about the list of abducted persons come at a time when president Museveni indicated that none can go missing under his rule and he directed security  agencies to release the list of all people arrested.

On Friday Museveni was chairing an inter Party Organisation (IPO) meeting which was however boycotted by three parties including the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), a section of the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) and JEEMA.

The parties denounced Mr. Museveni as not committed to Ugandans peace and there attending a meeting with him was useless.
