KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Police on Saturday clarified it rescued 14 girls from a suspected trafficker but there was yet to be concrete evidence the girls were being trained to sleep with dogs.

But he said it is true the girls were rescued from Muyenga , after a whistleblower at a guest house got concerned that the caretaker Dorothy Ndagire was making the girls share the same room and bed with the puppies.

“We want to clarify on the URN story which was misrepresented by the reporter, who alleges police rescued girls doing unnatural acts with dogs,” Kampala metropolitan Deputy spokesperson Luke Oweyesigire said in a press statement.

“We would however want to state that there is no evidence that shows whether the girls were being forced to perform unnatural acts; acts of bestiality with the dogs as alleged by the URN story. That can only be ascertained with medical evidence,” Oweyesigire said.

He said police had only picked evidence that shows the girls were to be trafficked to a different country. Any other evidence shall be ascertained as investigations proceed.

He said the whistle blower who led to arrest of Ndagire told police the girls were always seen moving with, and carrying the dogs all the time. This is the information that led to the raid at the guesthouse.

Ndagire is purported to be working with Maya project and she was picked from Muyenga tank Hill at Papaya Holiday Home.
