KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: The East African Legislative Assembly Member of Parliament (EALA-MP) Mukasa Mbidde has denied being a witchdoctor after an advert published in a Zambian Newspaper purported to show him as one hit social media platforms.
Mbidde and a journalist working with NBS TV were shown in two separate adverts run on the same day in Zambia both purportedly claiming to offer services that assist to open up luck for the disadvantaged.
But in response to Newsday Mbide writing in Luganda said “Kyokka Social Media bannange!”.
A number of Ugandans have been labelled by a South African description as Sangoma meaning (witches) for their alleged wielding of witch and power. Many have gained prominence in the activity although there are claims of conning their clients.

In the advert showing Mbidde’s face, he is referred to as Chief Muhammad and described as a powerful healer and herbalist with the ability to solve marriage, financial constraints and assist in winning political positions.
The advert also says he is able to sway court judgments in favor of clients.

In the advert carrying the Journalist’s photos, he is described as a powerful witchdoctor who can offer all his energy to make people’s lives better “because no man was born to suffer.”
“You can shape the future future, the choice is yours,” the advert reads.
Newsday’s efforts to get a comment from the journalist” hadn’t yielded by time of publication.
