WAKISO. After the grisly killing of a police CCTV signaler, police have arrested a school head teacher of Grace High School in Namavundu Wakiso and his guard after phone tracking linked them as the last people he spoke to.

Mr. Simon Ssekamatte, Junior Niyonsaba a casual laborer and the guard John Martin Obbo are alleged to have been the people seen with Jerome Bwayo before his disappearance two weeks ago.

The duo is still being interrogated but police say, there hasn’t yet been any concrete evidence to pin them.

Bwayo’s body was found on Friday October 8 already decomposing in a bush at Namavundu in Wakiso.

A postmortem report from Mulago says Bwayo died after he was hit with a blunt object on his head.

But in a police statement, Ssekamatte said it was true he was in company of Bwayo the day he disappeared but they parted ways.

    • Police is continuing with the investigations.

“I have known Bwayo for one month and he used to transport me on his bodaboda. I even dint know he was a police,” Ssekamatte says.

Bwayo was a signaler attached to the CCTV National Command Centre at Naguru Police Headquarters. He went missing on September 23, 2021, and his decaying body was found at Namavundu zone in Kasangati town council, a few meters from Grace Bulamu High School in Wakiso district.

Police spokesperson for the CID, Charles Twiine confirmed Ssekamatte’s arrest.
