City Pastor arraigned in court over stealing from his flock

KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: A city has been charged with sixteen counts of stealing from his flock.

Pastor Xavier Mugisha, alias Neza is accused through conning of acquiring money in the region of Shs. 50m. He was Monday arraigned before Grade I magistrate,  Amon Mugezi at Mwanga II Road Court.

Pastor Mugisha is a Pastor attached to True Revival Centre Church in Mengo

Prosecution alleges that between April and May this year, Mugisha  and others at large recveived Shs.2m from Halima Sanyu and Shs. 4m from Flavia Aine, Shs. 2m from Michael Turiyo, Shs. 4 from Annet Kwolooba between May 5 and May 9, 2021.

Prosecution also alleges that the accused received more funds from Vic Musimenta  and Daphna Angisirwa, Mwiza Katamba, Moses Musumba, Sharon Nalimanya, Simon
Tugume all of whom each gave Shs.2m.

The money is said to have been deposited in a bank account. Other people from whom Mugisha received money include  Richard Kyobe, Godfrey Sebuliba, Justine Nalwoga, Peninah Nyongera, Mega Nalubega all of whom sent various amounts in different amounts.
