Wine, speaking in an angry tone accused the headmaster, Brother Deodati Aliganyira, for being a shadowy mastermind in faming his son, Solomon Kampala’s suspension that captured national attention on February 1.
“He informed me that he had been set up and drugs put in his case and under his bed. I did not believe it at first. Not that I believe it now- but because I want answers,” Bobi said adding it was a ridicule to a Catholic founded school, his own religion.
SMACK was founded by the White Fathers missionary group in 1906.
“We raise our students to be leaders. My young man always hoped to stand for an elective position in this school… but this one day, he came crying to me at home that the headmaster had blocked him from standing,” Bobi Wine claimed addressing a parent’s meeting convened by the school saying this was political segregation and classism.
“Solomon had been reporting to me a pattern of segregation and targeting on him. When all these issues came up, the head teacher told me that for a child to be a leader in this school, he must be an A-student and not an average student like my son,” he said.
Parents roared in disapproval of the school behaviour while they cheered to Bobi Wine to continue.
SMACK on February 1 suspended Kampala for two-weeks for acting contrary to the school’s policy on “zero-tolerance for indiscipline.”
It was alleged Kampala was found with marijuana but Wine said that the school failed to offer evidence when tasked.
“When I told them to produce CCTV evidence, it was said the cameras had been cut off a day before the incident.
