WAKISO-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: The US ambassador to Uganda Natalie Brown showed her love at Buloba Primary School in Wakiso on Tuesday on a visit to scale up the reading culture among Uganda children during a national day celebrated annually to promote the reading culture.

The campaign is dubbed as “Drop everything and read” and USAID intends to reach 50 districts and cover at least nine million pupils countrywide. Drop everything and read is a campaign under a program Integrated Child and Youth Development (ICYD).

Natalie said “We can truly change lives when we unite our resources and expertise to support education and bright futures for today”.

Buloba Primary School head teacher, Andrew Ssentumbwe said it is important for children to start reading enough to enable comprehension.
