MUKONO-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: The High Court in Mukono has convicted a man for the July 2015 murder of his student girlfriend, Desire Mirembe who was she’d 19 at the time and a Makerere University Student.

On Monday, Justice Henry Kaweesa ruled that the evidence in place showed that Matthew Kirabo had masterminded the murder of Desire Mirembe.
But Kaweesa postponed sentencing pending arrest of Kirabo who skipped bail and an international warrant was issued.
Ssisimuka CEO Frank Gashumba called on the public to assist in tracing Kirabo.
 
Mirembe father Emmanuel Musoke said although Kirabo was convicted, he feels dissatisfied that the criminal is in hiding.
