KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: The Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) announced Monday a mass recruitment exercise that will see up to 10.000 men and women recruited into the army between June 18 and July 4.

At least 600 personnel will be recruited into the air Force, 1.000 drivers and mechanics and 100 medics all of whom are required to hold a diploma or bachelor’s degree in their fields.

8.300 regular soldiers will be enrolled but candidates will have to be youth of between 18 and 30 years of good health and without a family.

All candidates,according to a press statement released by UPDF spokesperson Felix Kulaigye must be Ugandans of good character and holders of a national identity card.
