Govt salutes Kabaka Mutebi for vaccination

Kabaka Mutebi adds weight to safety of Astra Zenac vaccine as gets vaccinated

The Government on Sunday saluted the Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi and Her  Royal  Highness  the  Nabagereka  for receiving their first dose of Astra Zenac Covid19 against the deadly disease.

“For  those  who  still  had  any  doubt our  leaders  for gave assurance. We thank the royals for their exemplary leadership,” ICT minister Judith Nabakooba said in press conference on Sunday.

Kabaka Mutebi, the Nabagereka and their staff got immunised this week, a move that strengthened the call for Ugandans to get their jabs.

“We  now  know  that  suspension  of  curfew  is  going to  depend  on  how  quickly  we  all  show  up  for  vaccination” Nabakooba said.

“I  therefore  call  upon  all  those in  the  categories  defined  by government  to  show  up  and  get  vaccinated. We  have  been  assured  by  Ministry  of  Health  that  more vaccines  are  expected  in  the  country  soon,” Nabakooba said.

She however said that before  more  vaccines are demanded, ” we  quickly  need  to utilize  the  doses  we  received  last  month”.

She asked Ugandans to continue  observing  the  guidelines  by Ministry  of  Health  even  after  vaccination including washing  hands  with  soap  all  the  time,  wearing  the  face  mask  and maintaining  social  distance  all  the  time.

Uganda received at least a million doses in donations last month.
