Christian Life Church, Bwaise Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga (Pictured above) has been dragged to police by a group of pastors from Luwero for allegedly pocketing millions of money donated to them by president Museveni.

Ssenyonga is also accused of allegedly receiving money from pastors saying he was going to help them get the Operation Wealth Creation (OWEC) pineapple juice squeezing and packing machines, a promise which has become a nightmare.

He is also said to have received money from pastors countrywide to help them construct iron roofed churches as opposed to those thatched with papyruses which he said were demeaning to God.

In a police file vide GEF14/2021, at least ten pastors representing a cluster of a hundred others, they have reported that instead of Ssenyonga making good his promises, he has resorted to threatening violence in order to silence them.

The case against Ssenyonga comes at a time when his colleague Pastor Siraje Ssemanda is facing charges of conning unsuspecting pastors well over three billion shillings.

Ssemanda and his group which include Pastor Mondo Mugisha, Maggie Kayima alias Nabbi omukazi, Catherine Kusasira and Uncle Kisanja are now battling charges related to obtaining money by false pretence among other cases.

Pastor Friday Yossam  Sserwada  who is in charge of information in greater Luwero  said he thinks that NRM’s poor performance in the last elections could have been as a result of frustration from pastors who didn’t mobilise as they had been doing before.

“Ssenyonga invited us to Bwaise towards elections saying the president wanted to meet us. We sold our goats and chicken to raise transport. When the president met us Ssenyonga told him that we are all under him that we have poverty challenges. The president said he would not give us cows and that he had given cash which he handed to Ssenyonga but he confiscated all of it,” Sserwada said.

He added that in the same way, Ssenyonga in 2008 in a drive dubbed ‘bye-bye Biwempe’ at Nakivubo Stadium, asked all pastors to register with Shs. 20.000 but nothing has ever changed.

Another group of pastors accuse Ssenyonga and other city pastors sending their agents to make them pay about 100,000/ each to benefit from operation wealth creation (OWEC) pineapple packing machines  which they are yet to again get.

But in a counter case, Ssenyonga last week has opened up police case at Kasangati police station vide CRB 23/13/04/2021 of defamation and threatening violence against pastors he suspects supporting pastors who accuse him.

On Thursday Ssenyonga with his aides, Simon Nsubuga and Israel Wasswa hired goons and men in police uniforms and arrested pastors and  journalist  Angel Lubowa among others from a pastor’s meeting in Butalejja.

They however released them late night that day after pressure started to mount.

Lubowa said he and others were in the area going about their journalistic call of covering the meeting when goons struck. He said he would pursue the matter to police standards unit.
