Buganda Kingdom enthusiasts have written to Kabaka Mutebi seeking his acceptance to be airlifted to London for specialized treatment.

Through their grouping Forum For Baganda Subjects, Ugandans and Friends of Buganda and Uganda they pledged not only to pay for a chartered plane but also foot all medical bills for the King, who Katikkiro says is suffering from an allergy-a statement disputed by many.

News about the group’s letter to the King came to light after another missive sent to Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga authored by their coordinator Stephen Lwetutte, on April 16.

“We have written to the King and a copy of his letter is attached. We requested him to accept our proposal to be taken to London for better care.We seek for your acceptance in our intervention in order to bring the King to England. We are ready to foot all the required bills,” Lwetutte said in the letter.

But Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga ruled out suggestions to take the Kabaka abroad on Wednesday in his meeting with Buganda Kingdom’s clan heads.

Kabaka’s illness came to light on April 13 during celebrations to mark his 66th birthday sparking a public debate on the handling of the matter
