Government Media Center executive director Ofwono Opondo ( pictured above with Obore) has said that the departure of former Parliament speaker Rebecca Kadaga from her was a positive stride.

He said among other things it created way for the return of Mr. Chris Obore who since 2019 had been fired under the guise of granting him leave.

In a tweet on Wednesday afternoon after visiting Obore’s office at Parliament, Mr. Opondo said “called on my brother @ChrisObore1 mistreated since Sept 2019 by outgone speaker to demonstrate that positive change has taken place.”

Chris Obore, the Parliament’s director of communications and public affairs resumed work only hours after Kadaga had been replaced by Jacob Oulanya.

He had been out of office following a two-year order he stayed on forced leave.

The night before he returned to work, Obore was seen in a video dancing at a party organised by the newly elected deputy speaker, Anita Among.
