KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: At least 26 National Resistance Movement (NRM) members are vying for the position of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) that fell vacant after the death of Mathias Kasamba.
A list issued by the NRM’s Electral Commission’s chairman Dr Tanga Odoi showed the names and one of them was due to be vetted later on Tuesday.
Key among the contenders is Prof Mondo Kagonyera, Dr. Sarah Nkonge, former Tourism minister Godfrey Kiwanda and former Kabula MP James Kakooza.
Others include John Bosco Lubyayi, Faridah Mayanja Mpiima among others.
