KAMPALA-UGANDA/ NEWSDAY: The roofing of Kasubi tombs started yesterday, eleven years after the unexplained fire gutted Muzibwazalampanga.
Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga said Thursday roofing is the last stage in a series of other processes already undertaken.
Mayiga thanked the people of Buganda for their patience in a long wait to see the completion of Kasubi tombs since March 16 when they were burnt.
“Probably as I stated early this year, the tombs could be completed by the end of 2021,” Mayiga said.
At least Shs 8bn has been sunk into the project. The Ttofaali fundraising raised Shs. 4bn while government has contributed Shs 2.3billion.
