KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: The spokesperson of Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s directorate of Land Forces (CLF) has attacked the leader of the National Unity Platform, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine over his comments that the commander participated in the torture of author Kakwenza Rukirabashaija.

“Bobi has in the last few days engaged in nefarious and baseless allegations against the UPDF CLF Gen. Kainerugaba, seeking to link the person of the General to some cases of torture in the country,” the land forces spokesperson Chris Magezi tweeted.

“The claims are not only defective, they’re full of deceit and malice…” Magezi added.

In several interviews, Kakwenza has insisted Muhoozi allegedly personally participated in tormenting and intimidating him at some point telling him to dissent from politics and disown his regime critical book-The barbarian.

And when Kakwenza visited Bobi on February 6, hewas quoted by the NUP leader narrating the ordeal he went through under military detention “on the orders of Museveni’s son, Muhoozi Keinerugaba.”

Torture has peaked news over the past two weeks. First Kakwenza emerged at a court session after weeks of detention with his body bruised. Then another NUP registrar of Kasese, Muhereza also came up after his capture by men alleged to be from the SFC. He was all wounded with some body parts scarred.

There is no official account why Muhereza was taken into custody but after his release he alleged security questioned him about the plans by NUP to take power.
