MBALE-UGANDA/ Uganda NEWSDAY: One Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) soldier is among nine bodies so far recovered after fierce floods in Mbale District.

 Many people still missing and feared dead in an escalating death toll.
Earlier in the dead, Newsday  reported three people had been confirmed killed as floods led to an overflow of  River Nabuyinga.

Several vehicles and homes were swept.

It followed heavy rains that started on Saturday night until about 7am on Sunday.

Parts of Mbale city including Namabasa, Busajabwankuba, Busamaga, Nkoma, Milo taano among others have been left devastated.
