WAKISO. At least 30 Senior Four candidates of Mubende Parents’ SS have been involved in a nasty accident at Bulenga, in Wakiso on Friday morning, with two hopitalised in critical condition.

There are conflicting details on the cause of the accident with two accounts alluding to a tyre burst while another cause is attributed to a mistake likely to have resulted for the driver’s attempt to overtake from the wrong side that had a ditch.

Students are hospitalized at Wymeston clinic at Bulenga while those in critical condition have been evacuated in police ambulance to Mulago Hospital.

One of the students, Jonan Lwanga says at least 140 students left Mubende Parents SS in the morning on two buses for a field study at Kasenyi Landing site.

The students were S4 and S6 candidates in company of six teachers.

The accident occured at the exact spot where former Buyende Police Commander, Kirumira was gunned down.

The accident bus fell on its sides at a veranda of a busy area, damaging a shop building.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango said he would comment after gathering the facts.
