KAMPALA. The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) National Chairman, Wasswa Birigwa has been denied access to party offices at Najjanankumbi.
Gates remained locked as journalists who were meant to cover Birigwa’s presser were also denied access.
The developments come hardly a day after two factions at the FDC went bare knuckle accusing each other of secretly getting money from President Museveni.
“Members of the Press, the Chairman FDC has a press conference today at 11am at the @FDCOfficial1 party Headquarters,” Doreen Nyanjura, the Kampala Deputy Lord Mayor,” said earlier.
“He will be clarifying why as the Chairman he suspended structure elections, a directive that has been ignored by the outgoing party President and Secretary General. We have learnt of attempts to sabotage the press conference by the same group that now worships gold but not God,” she added.
This followed two pressers, one by party president Patrick Amuriat and Secretary General Nandala Mafabi, and another by former president Kiiza Besigye and Lord mayor Erias Lukwago among others.
The two camps accuse each other of sharing money from President Yoweri Museveni, an accusation promoted by MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda.
