Man beats Wife to Death.

Police in Rukungiri have arrested a 54 years old James Kashaija allegedly for the murder of his 44 years old wife one Enid Ndyomuhyenyi.

This was on the 03/04/ 2024 at around 23:00 hours at their home at Rwanama village Kahoko parish Nyakishenyi sub county Rukungiri district.  It’s alleged that on the 03/04/2024 at around 2300hrs at Rwanama village, James Kashaija went back home from a social evening at Omukikona trading centre, woke up the wife and accused her of being drunk.
The wife also retaliated and told him that he also drinks alcohol, which annoyed him, he removed his black gumboots and used them to assault her on the chest and the back.

Further information indicate that when there was an attempt to rescue her, the husband pulled her off the bed put her on the floor and got a piece of old timber which he used to assault her on the legs, and knees and squeezed her neck. After which, he left her naked and helpless on the floor.

He slept in another room, but on the 04/04/ 2024 at around 0700 hours, he checked on her and found her dead.

He alerted his daughter Tushabomwe Emily who informed others including Twinamatsiko Phenehansi who reported to police.

The scene of crime was visited, examined and documented, statements were recorded from relevant witnesses,
exhibits of black gumboots and an old piece of timber were recovered, the suspect arrested and body taken to Rwakabengo Health Center III mortuary for postmortem. Police Spokesperson in Kigezi area ASP Elly Maate said, investigations into the matter have began.
