Prince Nakibinge Reveals Why He Separated With Sheikh Kamulegeya By our Writer
KIBULI
THE leader of Kibuli Moslem sect, Prince Kassim Nakibinge has revealed that he parted ways with renowned cleric Sheikh Obeid Kamulegeya because of his stinking past.
Nakibinge added that on top of his shady past, the former chief kadhi of Uganda has failed to appreciate elders and Muslim people of substance chosing to live by intimidating them yet they can’t chant to such.
” People were about to think that once I disagree with someone I ditch him. No that’s not me. I can still work with you but our brother Sheikh Kamulegeya is too tinted and continues to try intimidating us, so I chucked him” said prince Nakibinge.
He told selected Moslems who gathered at his Kibuli home to appreciate the works of Imam Kasozi whom they gifted with a car that Kamulegeya’s history is imaginable.
He alleged that Kamulegeya was involved in some criminal activities in the 60s that led to the death of some Muslims in Western Uganda.
“I went to Kajara [Ntungamo] and saw old men, in their 80s saying that Kamulegeya went there and caused havoc,” he said. “They were crying.”
Imam Idi Kasozi recieved a Toyota Harrier from a group of Muslims for his work in uplifting the Muslim community.
Before these strong words, Nakibinge thanked Imam Kasozi for working with everyone including Sheikh Kamulegeya whom.he said was among those who brought Kasozi to lose his parent.
He said whereas he had chose to work with Nakibinge, he proved unready to up grade his ways accusing him of trying to intimidate him lately following the demise of supreme mufti sheih Zubair Kayongo.
“When Kayongo died, I said let us elect another mufti. Kamulegeya said no, he said we had to first consult some big people in government. I told him that it was none of their business. He then sent Medi Ssebaggala [of Ssebaggala and Sons Electricals] who came here and threatened me.
Ssebaggala told me to go with what Kamulegeya was proposing or else there would be consequences. I told him to leave us. That is where our differences emanated from,” Nakibinge said.
Sheikh Kamulegeya was not readily available for a fair comment regarding these accusations.
But one of his close confidantes told Media that Kamulegeya separated with Nakibinge because the prince often disrespected him [Kamulegeya] and treated him like a small child.
“He would bark at him in meetings and disparage him. No sane person can accept this,” said the confidante who now closely works with Kamulegeya.
