KAMPALA

POLICE has called for vigilance by the general public to help it and other security agencies guard life and properties as the country approach the festive season.

National police spokesman Rusoke Kituuma told media that whereas police and other security agencies are on high alert, the public and ought to get more vigilant by having nearby police contacts and those of neighbors and LCS in case of a threat.

Meanwhile police in Nateete working with the UPDF, have arrested Henry Kizito 10, a bodaboda rider following a violent robbery of a hand phone, shs 20000 and yoghat packets worth shs 700,000 from in areas of Busega.

He narrated that he fell in their morning ambush as he was going to work and used knives and metallic rods to threaten and hurt him before he ran to nearby police which acted first and arrested one of them as the hunt for others continue.
Another suspect was injured during apprehension and is undergoing treatment in Mulago. A panga,
four knives, and a metallic rod were recovered as evidence.
