The cause of severe dysentery and puss flowing from the ears of Kawempe North MP-elect Mohammad Ssegirinya (pictured above) have formed the core of medical investigations by doctors in Kenyan capital Nairobi after his arrival there on Sunday.

“We are at Agha Khan Hospital and on arrival, we provided all the referral documentation from Doctor’s hospital in Seguku. Medical teams here are investigation all possible causes of Comrade Ssegirinya’s illness,” his brother Bosco Mawanda Kasagga said on Monday morning.

Ssegirinya also has reportedly developed issues with his intestines and his lower abdomen, according to scans have white spots.

Ssegirinya’s health deteriorated on Friday just after his release from Kitalya Prison where he had been jailed for an illegal assembly in Kampala.

Before departing for Nairobi yesterday, Ssegirinya said in Kitalya he was being kept is a solitary confinement but feeding with other inmates. He decried the poor prison sanitation.

“But what I can tell you is that while in prison I was never assaulted by anyone. The only beating I got was during my arrest,” Ssegirinya said.
