MBARARA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Machete men who killed an officer in charge in Mbarara city also took off with his gun, police has said.

Cpl Richard Agaba was killed by two men at 2am on Wednesday when he responded to a distress call in which a robbery was occuring at Step up bar in Kiyanja cell, Ruharo ward, Mbarara City North Division, Mbarara City.

 Boda boda rider Kiiza Muzamiru informed the late Agaba about the robbery and the deceased hired  Tumusiime James also a boda boda man  to ride him to the scene at Step up bar.
“They found when the thugs had run away from the crowds which had started gathering and the OC told the rider to start the police motorcycle. 

They followed the thugs who they later met at Palm world Ruharo. The two thugs were armed with a panga and a gun respectively but in different positions,” a police statement said on Wednesday.

Agaba was rushed to the hospital by one of the area councillor but later was pronounced dead. Police is investigating the robbery and killing of heir officer.
