MASAKA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Kawempe North MP Mohammad Ssegirinya and Allan Ssewanyana of Makindye West have been denied bail by a high court judge in Masaka.
The Judge Lawrence Tweyanze said that the duo being MPs would antagonize investigations. Their Lawyers said they will file an appeal in the supreme Court.
The duo is charged with with terrorism, murder, attempted murder, and aiding and abetting terrorism in connection to the recent wave of killings of mainly elderly people in the Greater Masaka Sub-region by machete wielding thugs.
Early this month, they had been granted bail on earlier charges but were both separately rearrested.
Ssegiringa and Ssewanyana appear seperately via video link on October 25. Their bail application has been denied.
