KAMPALA-UGANDA. Dear Principal Bobi Wine, receive my warm greetings.

I write this letter to you with great pain and disappointment in regards to your role in the struggle for change in Uganda.

When you came to the political scene in 2017, you came with a lot of energy and zeal in regards to removing the dictator.

You joined citizens on every effort to weaken and dismantle this regime. From fighting the OTT tax, to fighting removal of age limit, to participating in by-elections all-over the country to mention but a few.

You became a political star- the hope for the millons of hopeless Ugandans; from the jobless youth, to market vendors, from getto youths to Ugandans in diaspora.

Indeed Ugandans paid a price to support you. Hundreds of youths were murdered, others disappeared, while hundreds of people are rotting in jail.

Other opposition leaders were displaced, your supporters once attacked Dr Besigye while he appeared on CBS FM asking him to give you way, which he anyway did!

Efforts to front you as a joint candidate were futile as you claimed that you would do it alone!

You asked Ugandans to surrender to you (bikwase Kyagulanyi) and we did that!

To our disappointment, you surprised us when during elections your family was flown to the USA for safety while Ugandans were being butchered by dictator Museveni. People like Besigye have risked their families during tough times to the extent that Besigye lost a brother in prison.

When elections were over and your victory was robbed, we expected action. At least rallying Ugandans to reject the results and rise against the junta!

You instead ran to Museveni court to legitimize his win, but because it was perhaps something pre-planned, you unjustifiably withdrew the case leaving Ugandans in despair.

Amidst the tears and cries by Ugandans who lost their loved ones, instead of investing all the resources in a struggle, you instead bought yourself an expansive bullet proof/amoured car worth billions which was cleared by Gen Museveni!

Whether the money that bought the car came from Museveni or your supporters abroad is still a tightly guarded secret. Even if it were your supporters as you lied, which Ugandan suffering to make ends meet on kyeyo abroad would send his hard earned money to Bobi Wine to buy a luxurious amoured car? What kind of stupidity would that be? Even if your supporters were that stupid, wouldn’t it have been wise to advise them accordingly that the money should be used more productively?
Or because you are used with the celebrity life of competing on who has the best car or best house that’s why you were excited by having an armoured car when your people are rotting in prisons with their families helpless? So are you different from Museveni?

Hon Kyagulanyi as if that wasn’t bad enough, your supporters (street vendors) were chased from streets of Kampala, you remained silent. Prices of commodities skyrocketed, you remained silent, our coffee is being taken away by Pinneti and you can’t speak! Mr Kyagulanyi whom are you working for?

Hon Kyagulanyi Kampala and Wakiso have 90% of the elected leaders under NUP, this is the most populated area in the country and being an urban area, it’s the most affected by the current economic crisis. As a leader you are expected to mobilise these people at least to rise. If Dr Besigye could mobilise walk to work in 2011 when NRM had majority of elected leaders in Kampala (you remember they even impeached Lukwago) why would it be hard for Bobi Wine to mobilise these elected leaders to mobilize their voters to resist this regime? Doesn’t that confirm that you (Kyagulanyi) are in a deal Museveni to stop any uprising?

Hon Kyagulanyi, it is on record that NUP received over 4bn from government in 2021/22 financial year. You also receive one million from each of your 57 MPs monthly. When you add mayors, LC5s, city councilors, it’s estimated that you collect about 70m per month which totals to 800m per year. This means that monthly you spend 400 shs. If each district was give two Millon monthly it would be about 300m per month and the balance would remain at the headquarters, but where does this money go? How many NUP offices are open upcountry? How many activities have been held upcountry except the recent by-election in Omoro? Have you ever even provided accountability or acknowledged how you received this money or “mukukuta nazo”, (you eat it in hiding?)

Your conduct makes us doubt why Museveni’s courts allowed your illegal transfer of the party from Kibalama to yourself! No wonder MPs of NUP have been told to go slow on the regime lest their party will be registered and they will lose their seats! This is just a crafted opposition!

Hon Kyagulanyi, isn’t it true that NUP was created as a solution to the Buganda question to keep people in central occupied politically and divert them from the main causes? Isn’t it true that you agreed with Museveni to remain in Kampala and Buganda, never  to cross to other regions?

As I conclude, in Parliament NUP MPs have been cutting deals as they remit the loot “omunyago” to you (Kyagulanyi). The most recent one being the 40 million that the MPs shared including those of NUP, so does NUP still have the moral authority to hoodwink people that it’s fighting for them or it is just a kiwani courtesy of your own song?

Kyagulanyi, how will you detach yourself as one of the mafia gang working for Museveni?. You used people’s desperateness to get them from Dr Besigye and afterwords you killed the struggle. You should be exposed.

You are following wind, the guys you think will help you are busy enjoying party after party, building mansion after mansion, the earlier you joined progressive opposition forces the better, otherwise stop following unguidedly.
