KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Horror engulfed the Lord Mayor Elias Lukwago and his family last night after a Subaru vehicle rammed through their gate at high speed.

It was like a movie yet the story is real. A driver described by Lukwago as overhasty and reckless drove through his gate and nearly entering into the sitting room, were it not for the pillar that dettered the Subaru.

Children were watching a world cup football match a Subaru car UAJ 704K rammed through the main entrance.

“The gate forcefully flung open and badly damaged. The overspeeding car then rammed into the pillar at the entrance to the sitting room,” Mr Lukwago said.

He said a huge bang shook the whole house and the children who were watching soccer in sitting room started wailing.

In the vehicle were two people, a lady in the co-driver’s and she seat sustained serious injuries and she was rushed to the hospital.

But the family of Lukwago remained safe only that some members were gripped by nervous shock.

“I’m yet to understand the cause of this bizarre incident which has badly ravaged my home,” Lukwago said.
